ITINERARY
Half day: Cusco - Tipón - Pikillaqta - Andahuaylas - Cusco

This tour starts with your hotel pick-up between 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. We will depart by bus to the South of Cusco. After this journey through beautiful landscapes, the first stop will be the archaeological center of Tipón, an Incan ceremonial center where the flow of water from the high peaks was controlled through a stone channel from the Pachatusan hill towards the lowlands of the valley. Later, we will visit the Pikillaqta Archaeological complex, which literally means “flea city.” It is an ancient citadel of the Wari Empire, which was one of the most important regional centers of the Wari Culture during its expansion towards the city of Cusco. Finally, we will conclude the journey by visiting the beautiful Church of Andahuaylillas, a small jewel from the Colonial period, also known as ‘The Sistine of America’. Inside of it , there is an impressive collection of canvases with frames bathed in golden leaves and mural paintings, baroque altarpieces, and more. Likewise, we can appreciate the famous pentalingual door. We will be back in the city of Cusco at approximately 2:30 p.m.
