The Cusco City Tour is the perfect introduction to the Inca Empire. Enjoy a half-day tour exploring the most emblematic archaeological sites surrounding the city, such as the imposing Sacsayhuaman fortress, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay.
Additionally, it includes a guided visit to the revered Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), combining living history and ancient architecture.

Cusco, Qoricancha, and 4 nearby archaeological complexes.
Daily departures: Morning (09:00 hrs) or Afternoon (13:30 hrs).
Professional bilingual guide (Spanish / English).
We will gather next to the main fountain in the Plaza de Armas. There, our official tour guide will welcome you and explain the itinerary details before starting our exploration through the Inca capital.
Our first visit will take us to the ancient Temple of the Sun. In this sacred site, you can closely observe the astonishing architectural fusion: perfectly polished Inca walls serving as the foundation for the colonial structures of the Dominican Order.
We will leave the city and head up toward this imposing archaeological complex. You will be amazed by the cyclopean walls built with stones weighing up to 100 tons, along with the finest panoramic view of the entire Cusco valley.
Just minutes away, we will arrive at Qenqo, an enigmatic worship center carved directly into living rock. We will explore its mysterious underground galleries, which historically served as the setting for rituals dedicated to Mother Earth (Pachamama).
Our next stop is an ancient military and administrative checkpoint. It is popularly known as the “Red Fortress” due to the warm reddish hue its limestone walls take on when illuminated by the late afternoon sun.
The final archaeological site on our route stands out for its pristine aqueduct system. We will observe ceremonial channels where sacred water flows uninterruptedly—a true masterpiece of Andean hydraulic engineering designed for purification.
After completing our journey on the outskirts of the city, our transportation will take us back to Cusco’s historic center, concluding the tour near the Plaza de Armas so you can relax or continue exploring.
The Cusco City Tour is a half-day excursion, so we recommend traveling light. However, the weather in the Andes can change quickly. Here is what is essential:
The City Tour is a half-day excursion that lasts approximately 4 to 4.5 hours. You have two schedule options to choose from: the Morning Shift (starts at 10:00 a.m.) and the Afternoon Shift (starts at 2:00 p.m.).
Absolutely! It is the perfect activity for your first day. Being a short tour with minimal physical exertion, it allows you to progressively acclimatize to the city’s 3,400 meters of altitude while marveling at its history.
The BTC is a government-managed ticket that grants access to the main archaeological parks. For the City Tour, you will need at least the Partial Tourist Ticket (Circuit 1). You can purchase it at the first visited site during the tour (Sacsayhuaman); our guide will assist you with the process.
No, admission to the Temple of Qorikancha is not included in the general Tourist Ticket and has an independent cost of S/ 20.00 soles. This amount is paid in cash directly at the entrance of the temple on the day of the tour.
It is a very accessible tour. Tourist transportation drops us off very close to the archaeological complexes. Walks are short, at an easy pace, and include frequent stops for the guide’s explanations. An advanced fitness level is not required.
If your hotel or Airbnb is located within Cusco’s Historic Center (near the Plaza de Armas), we will pick you up. If your accommodation is located further away or on very narrow streets with no vehicle access, we will designate a central and easy-to-find meeting point.
Yes, it is an ideal excursion for the whole family. The trails at the archaeological sites are friendly for both children and seniors. We only recommend walking slowly to avoid altitude fatigue.
Tours in Cusco operate normally even if it rains (very common between November and April). We always recommend carrying a lightweight rain poncho. Only in cases of severe weather that compromises safety will we reschedule the activity.
