We begin the day by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center. We will board our shared tourist transport and embark on the journey toward the majestic mountains of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
We will visit the archaeological site of Chinchero, an ideal place to begin our altitude acclimatization. Additionally, we will visit a traditional textile center where local families will teach us the art of dyeing alpaca wool using natural ingredients.
Our VIP route takes us to Moray, an impressive system of concentric circular terraces. The Incas used this masterpiece of engineering to create diverse microclimates and adapt crops to different altitudes.
We will descend into a canyon to marvel at more than 5,000 salt extraction ponds carved into the mountain. This saltwater spring has been harvested since pre-Inca times and offers one of Cusco’s most photogenic landscapes.
We will arrive in the heart of the valley, the province of Urubamba. Here we will take a restful break to enjoy a delicious tourist buffet lunch, savoring the finest Andean and Peruvian gastronomy.
We will explore the only living Inca town that preserves its original urban street layout. We will climb the colossal terraces of its fortress. Note: If you have afternoon train tickets to Aguas Calientes, you can end your tour here at 16:00 hrs.
On our return journey toward Cusco, we will visit the mountain peak of Pisac. We will walk through its impressive agricultural terraces, explore its military architecture, and view the region’s largest pre-Columbian cemetery from a distance.
After a full day of exploration and history, our transport will bring us back to the city of Cusco, dropping us off two to three blocks from the Plaza de Armas.
